We purchased the Luv Sub brand new from Don Mar RV in Lynchburg, S.C. on April 11, 2002. Prior to that we had never owned an RV or towed anything. In 2002, the International line had just been re-introduced with two models - the AS (for Airstream) and the CCD (for Christopher C. Deam, a prominent architect/designer). The AS had a more traditional look while the CCD had many of the modern touches seen in today's Airstreams, i.e. lots of interior aluminum, lucite cabinets, chic colors. The primary reason we chose the AS was the huge kitchen which is actually bigger than 25' or 27' rigs. The CCD model took off while the AS version was discontinued after a few years. In 2007, we did a major interior redesign and have continued to make improvements ever since. We roll with Goodyear Endurance tires and an Equal-i-Zer 4 Point Sway hitch. The GVWR is 5,000 lbs. Onboard she carries 32 gallons of fresh water and her grey and black tanks are 21 gallons each. She is the first, only, and last Airstream we will ever own.
The Luv Truck is only our second tow vehicle. Our first was a 2001 tan F-150 that we loved, but was starting to rust due to the harsh Vermont salted winter roads. We purchased our new truck on March 2, 2019 from Carbone Ford in Bennington, Vermont. We custom fitted it out to our own specifications. Here are some stats:
